One January night, the man went out to pick up some friends in his car. On the way, a police patrol spotted him and reacted to the icy windows. Now the man is being prosecuted.
He had gone out into the snow and cold to pick up some acquaintances who were at a bar and wanted a ride home. The bar was only 250 meters away, but during the drive he encountered a police patrol.
“It appeared that the suspect had only used the windshield wipers to get rid of the snow and frost on the windshield,” an officer wrote in a report that Nya Wermlands-Tidningen has reviewed. The side window on the driver’s door was described as “completely unacceptable.”
The police patrol also noted that “there were a few small scratch marks in the frost, as if you’d scraped with your fingernails, which did nothing to improve visibility.”

Risk of Fines
The man admits that he did not make much of an effort to scrape the windows before leaving, and concedes that he could have been “a little more thoughtful,” but maintains at the same time that he “had full control.”
The man is now being prosecuted for reckless driving and risks a fine.
