An elderly woman had her handbag stolen on Friday as she was about to enter her apartment building in Eslöv. Shortly before, she had been in the town center and withdrawn cash from an ATM.

The incident occurred around lunchtime on Friday, when the woman was about to enter the entrance to her residential building in Karidal. Suddenly, an unknown man appeared and attempted to enter the same doorway.

The woman noticed that the man was unable to enter the correct door code. Since she did not recognize him, she asked whether he lived in the building. The man said he did and became irritated at her questioning.

Suddenly, he snatched the woman’s handbag from her walker and quickly fled the scene. The bag contained, among other things, a wallet with a small amount of cash and bank cards, as well as a mobile phone.

The woman was able to provide police with a description of the man. He is described as a colored man in his 50s with curly hair, according to Skånska Dagbladet.

The woman was not physically injured in the incident. Police have classified the event as aggravated theft.
