TV4’s political reporter Jens B Nordström was off duty when he met a prostitute in Sollentuna in November 2023, according to sources at TV4, as reported by Aftonbladet. This questions the TV company’s explanation that the purpose of the meeting was journalistic.

Nordström is suspected of purchasing sexual services after meeting a 32-year-old Swedish prostitute in a barrack apartment in Sollentuna on November 13, over two years ago, which she used for selling sex.

“This investigation fundamentally stems from a preliminary investigation into procuring. In that investigation, an escort who has sold sexual services is involved, and when talking to her and looking through her phone, a larger number of sex purchases have been identified,” prosecutor Kristoffer Kågström previously told Samnytt.

The 48-year-old TV4 profile is one of several men identified in this sex purchase scandal.

Claims journalism

There is no doubt that Jens B Nordström met the prostitute on the specific day. However, there are differing opinions about the purpose of the meeting.

The prosecutor claims that Nordström met the woman for the same reason as the other men: to purchase sex. And there is convincing evidence that this is the case.

Prior to the meeting, Nordström withdrew 2000 SEK in cash, which according to the woman’s price list should cover 45 minutes of sex. He also sent a text message to the woman stating that he has “a thing for girls in workout clothes” and that it would be “appreciated” if she wore them. Afterward, she noted that he was a “Nice Slightly Chubby Swedish Man 45 F***ed for a Long Time” in her mobile phone.

However, both Jens B Nordström and TV4 claim in the interrogation that the purpose of the meeting was journalistic. The TV company is working on a new exposé similar to the “troll factory,” it is claimed, and for that exposé, they wanted to get in touch with the woman.

“If you look at the troll factory, it wasn’t like we said: ‘Hi, we are journalists, can we come and work with you?’ In some cases, you approach without saying that you are a journalist, and in other cases, you say that you are a journalist,” news manager Fredrick Malmberg said in police interrogation.

Sources: He was off duty

Now, sources within TV4 reveal that Jens Nordström was not on duty but was off duty that Monday. This is reported by Aftonbladet. If the sources’ information turns out to be true, it could undermine the TV4 profile’s explanation for his meeting with the woman.

It is already known that the prostitute denied in interrogation that she had met anyone claiming to be a journalist.

“No, never,” she replied.

According to prosecutor Kristoffer Kågström, “complementary measures” are currently being taken in the case against the TV4 profile accused of sexual offenses. This is in response to information from TV4. The prosecutor does not comment on what information or measures this concerns.

Main hearing in the sex purchase case is scheduled for January 28 next year. Jens B Nordström has been suspended from TV4 since the indictment was brought.
