Since the Hamas terror group’s massacre of Israeli civilians in 2023, anti-Jewish hatred on the left has exploded and is now expressed openly in increasingly aggressive demonstrations on streets and squares. Particularly within the Left Party, there is a significant problem with antisemitism: many of the party’s candidates ahead of this autumn’s election have denied the Holocaust, celebrated acts of terrorism, and praised the leaders of Iran and Russia.

When Left Party leader Nooshi Dadgostar was confronted with the widespread antisemitism and terrorism sympathies within her party, she dismissed the concern, claiming it was “a handful of people.” However, according to an investigation by Expressen, 25 Left Party candidates have been found to express such views in various ways. So far, 13 have been removed from the party’s election lists.
