A 43-year-old man with ties to the far-left scene has been remanded in custody on probable cause, suspected of having made threats against two cabinet ministers earlier this week.

On January 18 and 19, 43-year-old Andreas Klominek, originally from the Stockholm area but in recent years living in Småland, is alleged to have taken part in threatening actions targeting Minister for International Development Cooperation Benjamin Dousa (Moderates) and Minister for Migration Johan Forssell (Moderates) outside their homes in Bromma, western Stockholm.

Klominek was wanted in his absence already on the evening of January 19, and the arrest was carried out by the Security Police the following day, on January 20.

Andreas Klominek denies the criminal allegations for which he has now been remanded, according to his defense attorney Silas Aliki. But on Friday morning, Solna District Court announced that Klominek is to be held in custody.

The criminal records show that Andreas Klominek was convicted of drunk driving last year. In addition, he has several traffic-related fines.

Court documents from Växjö District Court in connection with the drunk driving case also reveal that he supports himself through work at Ikea, where he creates advertising films.

Post Involving Severed Head

In parallel with the reports of home visits to the ministers, the pro-Kurdish activist group Rojava Committees posted on social media, proudly showing that “we” had gone to Minister Benjamin Dousa’s (Moderates) residence.

The Rojava Committees claim to support Kurdish self-rule in northern Syria and openly side with the PKK, a designated terrorist organization according to the EU, the USA, and many other countries.

According to the pro-Kurdish, far-left group, the action was a protest against the government’s talks and aid to the new jihadist regime in Syria. The administration is led by the previously wanted al-Qaeda leader Mohammed al-Julani, who now calls himself Ahmed al-Sharaa and is increasingly accepted by Western leaders.

Linked to Erdogan Doll Incident

Citizen journalist Christian Peterson, who investigates the far-left movement, highlighted Andreas Klominek last year in a comprehensive report. Klominek is now suspected on probable cause of both aggravated unlawful threats and unlawful threats against ministers earlier this week.

Peterson identifies Klominek as a key figure in the far-left movement. According to Peterson, Klominek is often seen in the company of AFA figures and is said to have a background in the militant leftist group Revolutionary Front. Despite this, he has long evaded scrutiny by established media.

Far-left activist Andreas Klominek is also described as a central actor in Swedish support for the PKK, a designated terrorist communist militia. Peterson raises the question of why, despite this role, he continues to be shielded from media scrutiny in Sweden.

Furthermore, Peterson points out that Klominek is one of those involved in the action with the hanging Erdogan doll outside Stockholm City Hall during the NATO process. Neither was he named then. Instead, Aftonbladet chose only to give Klominek’s first name, “Andreas.”

Klominek is also mentioned in legal documents, which show that he had text message contact with Joel Bjurströmer Almgren, a leading figure in the Revolutionary Front, the day after Almgren committed an attempted murder.

Just before being arrested for the attempted murder, Almgren even called Klominek, further confirming his links to the violent extremist movement.
