Climate extremist Greta Thunberg levels sharp accusations against U.S. President Donald Trump in a video post on Facebook. In the video, she calls him a “pedophile” and accuses the U.S. of deliberately causing a humanitarian crisis in Cuba through the country’s long-standing embargo. These statements come as Thunberg calls for international mobilization in support of Cuba’s communist dictatorship.

In the video, published on Thunberg’s Facebook page along with a longer text, she criticizes U.S. policy towards Cuba and urges people around the world to protest against the U.S. government.

Amid her criticism, she directs personal accusations of sexual crimes at the U.S. president.

– Pedophile Trump bragged about it himself, says Thunberg in the video, in connection with describing how she believes the U.S. embargo affects the Cuban population.

She further claims that the American government is deliberately strangling the nation’s economy and energy supply and accuses the U.S. of causing widespread power outages, fuel shortages, and severe problems in the healthcare sector.

No evidence for the personal accusations against the president is presented in the video.

Calls for International Protests

The video post is linked to the campaign “International Day of Solidarity with Cuba,” which Thunberg says takes place on March 21. She encourages her followers to participate in demonstrations at U.S. embassies and to join solidarity networks for Cuba’s communist dictatorial regime.

In her written Facebook post, she describes U.S. policy as a “brutal collective punishment” of the Cuban people. She also highlights the so-called Nuestra América convoy, which according to organizers, will transport humanitarian aid to Havana.

Support for Cuba’s Communist Dictatorship

In the video, Thunberg describes Cuba’s communist dictatorship in positive terms and points to, among other things, the country’s alleged international medical efforts, for example, the work of Cuban doctors in Africa during the Ebola outbreak and in disaster areas.

She also emphasizes that Cuba has historically supported “liberation movements” in Africa and other parts of the world.

Cuba has been governed by a communist one-party system since the armed revolution in 1959. The country is classified by several international organizations as an authoritarian state where political opposition is heavily restricted or outright banned.

The Revolution and Decades of Conflict with the U.S.

Cuba’s current political system emerged after the violent communist Fidel Castro seized power in 1959 through an armed uprising that toppled dictator Fulgencio Batista, who had taken power in a 1952 military coup.

The relationship between Cuba and the U.S. quickly deteriorated after the revolution. During the 1960s, the U.S. attempted several times to weaken or overthrow the new regime.

One of the most famous events was the Bay of Pigs invasion in 1961, when Cuban exile forces supported by the U.S. intelligence agency CIA tried to invade Cuba. The operation ended in disaster.

There are also reports that the CIA planned or supported attempts to assassinate Fidel Castro. According to historical investigations, there were plans where the American intelligence agency tried to use organized crime, including the mafia. However, many details about these plots remain disputed or are incomplete.

The Cuban Missile Crisis and the Longstanding Embargo

The conflict between the U.S. and Cuba peaked in the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962, when the Soviet Union placed nuclear weapons on the island. The crisis brought the world to the brink of nuclear war before a deal was reached between the U.S. and the Soviet Union.

The same year, the American trade embargo against Cuba was also formalized. Since then, the embargo has been a central part of U.S. policy towards the country and has been tightened or relaxed by various American administrations over time.

The U.S. government has long argued that the embargo is intended to pressure the Cuban regime to implement democratic reforms, while critics say that the sanctions primarily hurt the civilian population.

Reactions Expected

Greta Thunberg has previously been a central profile in :censored:6:cdd6bbaa89: climate extremism but in recent years has also engaged in other political issues, including Middle East conflicts against Israel and for the Hamas regime in Gaza.

The latest video post, with its personal accusations against the U.S. president and support for Cuba, is expected to spark further debate over her political positions.
