The final match of the Forssa Cup turned violent as players from Swesom and Dalkurd Hjärtat clashed in chaotic scenes. Several police officers had to intervene.
The Forssa Cup is an annual futsal tournament held in Maserhallen in Borlänge, organized by Forssa BK. This year’s cup was anything but the cozy public gathering it has traditionally been, following the commotion in the men’s final.
Players and leaders who ran onto the pitch were involved in the scuffle, which became so intense that police had to intervene.

According to Forssa BK chairman Elvan Cicen, just a handful of individuals ruined the experience for a couple thousand people.
“It’s not good… we talk about being role models, about showing civil courage and respecting each other,” Cicen told Falu-Kuriren, continuing:
“I have no problem with people booing, that’s part of sports. But if something happens on the field, let those on the field handle it. Why should anyone jump onto the pitch?”

Footage under review
Cicen acts as the announcer during the cup and went onto the court himself during the brawl to speak with the referees.
According to Cicen, the teams disagreed with the referees about who should receive a card or not. This was reportedly resolved, and the match was played to completion.
Afterwards, available footage will be reviewed to assess whether there will be any consequences from the brawl.
