On Tuesday evening, a 25-year-old man entered Ica Maxi in Norsborg where he attacked a woman in her 60s. The injuries were so serious that she died from them.

The police were alerted at 7:40 pm and the perpetrator was apprehended by security guards and then handed over to the police. The woman was initially treated on site by ambulance personnel and police before being transported to the hospital by helicopter.

A couple of hours later, the police announced that the woman had died in the hospital and that relatives had been notified.

The police state that at present, they do not know of any relationship between the victim and the perpetrator. According to reports, the attack was unprovoked and the woman was said to have been an employee in the store.

The police have confiscated a knife that the perpetrator is suspected to have used in the assault. The suspect has been detained for murder.

Mental illness

There are also reports that the perpetrator may suffer from mental illness. In that case, the case may have some similarities to when 28-year-old Nimo Bashir Daud was murdered as she was on her way home from work.

The person suspected of the murder is a man who has been involuntarily committed to psychiatric care on several occasions and is assessed to suffer from a serious mental disorder but was still able to move freely.
