A Somali man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after allegedly trying to cut a man’s throat in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on Monday evening. The victim, a man in his 40s, is being treated in hospital with serious injuries. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has commented on the incident, stating that he does not tolerate this on the streets.

The incident took place outside an apartment complex in northern Belfast at around 10:30 PM local time. Police are investigating the motive behind the attack.

Videos circulated on social media show the suspect sitting on top of the victim and repeatedly stabbing towards the head and neck area. Several people at the scene try to intervene to stop the violence.
