On Wednesday evening, a knife attacker targeted a man in Bromma, western Stockholm. According to reports, the victim was seriously injured during the assault and the police shot the perpetrator.

At 8:40 p.m., SOS Alarm received a call about a man being attacked by a knife-wielding assailant in the Riksby area.

During the apprehension, a situation arose that led to the police shooting the perpetrator in the leg. At the same time, the victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries from the knife attack.

According to Carina Skagerlind, press spokesperson for the Stockholm police region, the perpetrator and the victim did not have any prior contact with each other.

The police have initiated a preliminary investigation for attempted murder, and a forensic examination is being conducted at the scene.
