Things got out of hand when the fast-food chain Max held a staff party in Malmö. Now two Kosovo Albanian brothers are being prosecuted after a bouncer, a security guard, and finally a police officer were assaulted. None of them risk deportation.
In March last year, the fast-food chain Max organized a staff party at Malmö Palatset – an event venue in the city. During the party, there was dancing, and one of the men showed a keen interest in a 20-year-old woman.
She tried to avoid him, even pushing the man away several times. But he persisted, being very forward not only towards her but also towards several other young women at the party.
Eventually, the staff at Palatset intervened and told the man to leave.
Immigrant chaos
The ejected man, a 27-year-old Kosovo Albanian, did not take kindly to being told to leave. He also had his 22-year-old brother with him. A scuffle broke out between the staff and the Albanian brothers.
When a bouncer was struck, security guards were called. Then the fight escalated. In particular, the 22-year-old brother was in a fighting mood.
One of the security guards was assaulted, and it took four to five people to wrestle the aggressive 22-year-old to the ground and restrain him. At that point, the police were called.
Assaulted police officer
When the first police officer arrived to arrest the violent younger brother, the officer was attacked from behind by the older brother. The officer’s colleague had fallen a few seconds behind due to a malfunctioning door on the police car, but when he entered the party venue, he also joined the fray.

It took a total of seven police officers, an unknown number of security guards, and colleagues of the two Albanian men to finally gain control of the situation.
Now, the two Albanian brothers are being prosecuted for two counts of assaulting a public official. Both men deny the charges.
The older of the brothers, in addition to being a citizen of Serbia and Kosovo, is also a Swedish citizen. The younger brother, however, lacks Swedish citizenship. Neither of them faces deportation for their misconduct.
