Ica-murderer Shivesh Tiwari was granted Swedish citizenship less than a year after arriving in Sweden, three days after submitting his application. This is now revealed by Samnytt.
On Thursday afternoon, 26-year-old Shivesh Tiwari is remanded for the murder of a 60-year-old female employee at Ica Maxi in Botkyrka on Tuesday.

Section 1 of the Södertörn District Court tells Samnytt that the 26-year-old Indian is remanded for four weeks. Charges must be brought by 6 February at the latest, unless he is remanded before then.
Unknown to the woman
According to prosecutor Angelica Runesson, Shivesh Tiwari and the murdered woman did not know each other.
– As far as we can see, there is no connection between them, she tells Samnytt.
She does not want to answer whether Tiwari went to Ica Maxi with the intention of harming or killing someone, or whether he had the murder weapon with him to the store or obtained the knife there.
– Those are details in the investigation that I won’t comment on, says the prosecutor.
Mental illness
Shivesh Tiwari has confessed to the murder, and according to his defense lawyer, the remanded suffers from mental illness.
– There is information about mental illness in this person, and a working hypothesis is that there is a connection between the mental illness and the act, says Angelica Runesson.
– When there is suspicion that a person has a mental illness, it is something that we continue to look at in the investigation. I will not comment on how we do that.
She also points out that it is up to the court to decide on a so-called paragraph 7 examination of the remanded, that is, a medical examination carried out by a psychiatrist or forensic psychiatrist.
– Prosecutors never make decisions about so-called P7s, she says.
