After first leaving the Democrats and becoming independent, and then joining the Republicans and working for and closely with Trump during the election campaign, Tulsi Gabbard has been given a leading role in Donald Trump’s new administration.
Gabbard is a military veteran and is already an honorary chair of the incoming President Donald Trump’s transition team, and now she has also been appointed as the head of the national intelligence service.
As a Democrat, she represented Hawaii in Congress for eight years and ran for the party’s presidential nomination in 2020.

“For over two decades, Tulsi has fought for our country and the freedoms of all Americans. As a former candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, she has broad support in both parties – she is now a proud Republican!”, writes Trump in a statement.
“If there is a way I can help achieve the goal of preventing a third world war and nuclear war? Of course,” she said in an interview on Monday night.

Names like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are already set to work on an efficiency commission, and Marco Rubio as Secretary of State.
During the campaign, Robert F Kennedy Jr, also a former Democrat, has also supported Trump and is expected to have a place in the administration – probably in the health sector.
