The Swedish Migration Agency wanted to deport the convicted murderer Yaser Al Diri eight years ago. This has now been revealed by Samnytt. However, the deportation was stopped by a female judge, and Al Diri was allowed to stay in Sweden and has since become a Swedish citizen.

Yaser Al Diri arrived in Sweden from Syria with his father and older sister in February 2015. However, the Migration Agency rejected their application for residence permits in April the following year.

Uncertainties regarding the children’s mother and whether she had agreed to let the father take the children to Sweden seem to have played a role in the authority’s decision to reject the application.

Changed by court

The father appealed the decision to the migration court in Luleå and submitted, among other things, a certificate stating that the children’s mother had transferred custody of the children to their father. This document was given great weight by the court.

The Migration Agency admits the appeal, and a single female judge rules that the children should be granted permanent residence permits in Sweden.

In June 2020, Yaser Al Diri was granted Swedish citizenship.

Personal robbery against Swede

Since obtaining citizenship, Yaser Al Diri has been investigated for several serious crimes. Last summer, he was charged with a suspected gang robbery against a 14-year-old Swedish boy in Enköping.

A group of immigrants surrounded and pushed the victim, taking his necklace, shoes, and shirt. The robbery was captured on camera by a witness on a balcony.

The prosecutor charges Al Diri with robbery, but the court convicts him of aggravated theft instead. The threat to the 14-year-old is not considered to have posed any ”imminent danger” to the victim, which means the incident is not classified as a robbery.

The penalty is juvenile care, where the Syrian boy is encouraged to follow a so-called youth contract drawn up by the social services.

Gang criminal hitman

Yaser Al Diri has also been charged and acquitted in a case of serious weapons offenses. In March this year, he fires an automatic rifle of the brand Zastava inside Pascha Pizza and Charcoal Grill in the Stockholm suburb of Fittja. A 27-year-old man is killed.

This time, Yaser Al Diri is sentenced to eight years in prison for, among other things, murder. According to the court, Al Diri fired the fatal shot inside the restaurant. Two other young men are also convicted of the murder.

One of them is Abdourahman Susan Jagne from Gambia, who is sentenced to life imprisonment. The other is Cristian Roberto-Cristian Tatar, who is sentenced to four years of closed juvenile care.

Cannot be deported

Abdourahman Susan Jagne arrived in Sweden in 2010 and was granted permanent residence the same year. His first application for citizenship was rejected in 2012, while the second application was approved in 2014.

Since both Abdourahman Susan Jagne and Yaser Al Diri are Swedish citizens, they cannot be deported from Sweden. Therefore, they are allowed to stay in the country.

However, 17-year-old Cristian Roberto-Cristian Tatar, who comes from Romania, is deported for life. He is convicted of murder, despite not having fired any shots at the time of the murder.
