Drinking coffee can reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. However, to fully benefit from the potential of coffee, it is important to learn when to drink it.

The health benefits of coffee are far from new. Moderate coffee consumption can provide several health benefits, such as preventing premature death. What is new, however, is the optimal time for drinking coffee to maximize its health benefits.

Researchers at Tulane University in New Orleans have analyzed data from over 40,000 individuals who answered detailed health-related questions between 1999 and 2018. Most reported drinking coffee in the morning or throughout the day.

The results showed that compared to the group that did not drink coffee, morning coffee consumption was associated with a 16% reduced risk of premature death and a 31% lower risk of dying from cardiovascular diseases.

Caffeine and Quantity Irrelevant

However, for those who drank coffee throughout the day, there was no reduction in risk.

Therefore, according to the study, it is best to limit coffee consumption to the morning.

At the same time, it was noted that the presence of caffeine in the coffee did not matter, nor did the quantity of coffee.
