On Friday afternoon, a bus crashed into a bus shelter in central Stockholm. The driver has been arrested and the incident is being classified as gross negligence causing death to others.
It was around 3 pm when the bus shelter on Valhallavägen, near the Royal Institute of Technology, was hit. According to the police, there are both injured and deceased individuals after the accident.
The bus involved belongs to the company Transdev.
“It’s one of our buses that has been involved and it’s a double-decker. I also know that there are personal injuries, but I don’t have any information about what happened at the moment,” said Lovisa Åbom, communications manager at Transdev, to state television.

The driver has been arrested and the incident is being classified as gross negligence causing death to others. The cause of the incident is currently unclear.
The police do not want to provide further details about the deceased or injured.
