In a post on social media, Abon’go Malik Obama, Barack Obama’s half-brother, says that he will also vote for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in November.

“I am Malik Obama. I’m a registered Republican and I’m voting for President Donald Trump,” wrote the Kenyan-born American citizen on X.

Trump appreciated the support:

In an interview in 2016 with New York Post, Malik Obama said he liked that Trump “speaks from the heart.” He also called his younger half-sibling “a deep disappointment.”

“Make America Great Again” is a fantastic slogan, he added in the interview.

“I would like to meet him [Trump].”

Obama’s Best Man

In 2020, Malik said he was “110 percent still with Trump” and added that Biden, then in his late 70s, “looks like he’s going to die.”

In 1992, Malik was the best man at Barack Obama’s wedding to Michelle Robinson, and he later visited the White House during his half-brother’s time in office.

In September 2022, Malik wrote that he “stood by Barack Obama throughout his presidency, until I realized that he only cared about himself,” and that was when he “left him for President Trump.”
