After being pressed with questions about his debts and false statements about his professional background, Mohamed Ali’s interview with Expressen was interrupted. Now, the Left Party is cancelling more interviews, citing that Ali is ill—but no sick leave notification has been submitted to the parliament.

Over the past month, Mohamed Ali has declined to answer questions regarding his extensive debts and the incorrect information he has provided about his professional background.

But when he returned to the parliament yesterday for his first real working day, several media outlets were waiting to interview him.

Among the media given the opportunity to interview Ali was Expressen, which has previously exposed several of his misdeeds. The reporter wanted, among other things, to know why he had refused to answer questions about his debts for several weeks.

The Member of Parliament repeatedly referred to the recent period as being mentally taxing.

– It has been under a bit of extra strain these past four weeks. I couldn’t respond to every message or every email. I haven’t responded at all, he told Expressen.

As Expressen pressed on with their questions and Ali’s answers became increasingly vague, it ultimately became too much for the Left Party’s press secretary. She then intervened and ended the interview.

Interviews Cancelled

Today, among others, Sveriges Radio Ekot was supposed to have the chance to grill the Member of Parliament, but this morning the Left Party announced that Ali is ill and therefore will not be participating in further interviews.

Ali was on sick leave from the parliament between October 12 and 15 and did not serve during that time. According to several media outlets, the parliament has not received any new sick leave notification from Ali.
